TOPIC: Training during pregnancy

Having recently discovered that I am pregnant (around 8 weeks), I was wondering if anyone can advise me on kettlebell training during pregnancy. Is it safe to continue training and if so, are there any exercises that I should avoid? Are there any adaptations I need to make during each trimester?

Hi Lesley, our general recommendations are that kettlercise should not be undertaken during pregnancy due to the dynamic nature of the swings and snatches etc and the high rise in core temperature. Now you could substitute certain exercise under the supervision of a qualified trainer/coach who would be able to individualise your needs and with your GPs consent. It's quite an individualistic thing. Hope that helps
